Basketball Game Preview: Gulliver Prep Raiders vs. Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs

The Gulliver Prep Raiders will take on the Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Gulliver Prep is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They strolled past NSU University with points to spare, taking the game 85-69. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Meanwhile, Cardinal Gibbons came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Sports Leadership & Management 69-46. Given the Chiefs' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Sports Leadership & Management are ranked 175th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cardinal Gibbons' win bumped their record up to 24-4. As for Gulliver Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 20-8.

Gulliver Prep barely slipped by Cardinal Gibbons in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 52-51. Does Gulliver Prep have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cardinal Gibbons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
