Recap: Jonesboro Eagles vs. Chester Yellowjackets
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Jonesboro Eagles had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 64-0 victory over Chester. The win was familiar territory for Jonesboro who now have ten in a row.
It was another big night for DeMarcus Acoff, who rushed for 58 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Stephenson, who rushed for 50 yards and a touchdown.
Jonesboro has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 11-1 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.6 points per game. As for Chester, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Jonesboro will look to defend their home field on November 25th against May at 5:00 p.m. May is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Chester does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
