Basketball Game Preview: Miami-Yoder Buffaloes vs. Pikes Peak Christian Eagles

The Miami-Yoder Buffaloes just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Pikes Peak Christian Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Miami-Yoder has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.

Miami-Yoder is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Manzanola 50-12 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Meanwhile, Pikes Peak Christian played a tough game last Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 64-14 loss at the hands of Thomas MacLaren School. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while the Highlanders are ranked 93rd).

Savannah Heath was Pikes Peak Christian's leading scorer, having posted five points. Bella Fletcher held things down on the boards with nine rebounds. Gabby Moore took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Miami-Yoder's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Pikes Peak Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Everything went Miami-Yoder's way against Pikes Peak Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as Miami-Yoder made off with a 39-13 win. Will Miami-Yoder repeat their success, or does Pikes Peak Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
