Softball Recap: Constantine's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Constantine proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Saugatuck Trailblazers. The win was familiar territory for the Falcons, who have now won four contests in a row.

The team relied heavily on Olivia Herlein, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Jozee Buglione was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Constantine pushed their record up to 21-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Saugatuck, they moved to 7-10 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Constantine will venture away from home to square off against Three Rivers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Saugatuck, they will head out to challenge Bridgman at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
