Basketball Game Preview: Newark Norsemen vs. Marquette Crusaders

The Newark Norsemen will square off against the Marquette Crusaders at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Newark is looking for their season's first win.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 51-20, which was the final score in Newark's tilt against Manteno on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Norsemen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 642nd, while the Panthers are ranked 151st).

Meanwhile, Marquette was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 49-45 to Roanoke-Benson. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Newark's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Marquette, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
