Baseball Recap: Union City Find Success

Union City was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Memorial on Monday. The Soaring Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand the Tigers a 10-0 shutout. The Soaring Eagles haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Wilme Mas Sarda made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Mas Sarda was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Jean Calderon was a standout: he scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. He also brought in two RBI, marking his first of the season. Guillermo Soto was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
