Basketball Game Preview: Tri-Township Tigers vs. Morgan Township Cherokees

The Tri-Township Tigers will face off against the Morgan Township Cherokees at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Tri-Township is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Kouts on Tuesday. Tri-Township fell to Kouts 44-38. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jayde Pryor put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. Tri-Township will have to contain Madi Lemmons as she made an impact in Morgan Township's last game. She dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Josie Lemmons, who earned eight points.

Even though they lost, Morgan Township smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washington Township only pulled down two offensive rebounds.

Tri-Township's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Morgan Township, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Tri-Township has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 29.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Morgan Township struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
