Baseball Recap: DasCHE Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Coram Deo Academy, DasCHE was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes Storm Gold Storm 4-2. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 7-3 win the Storm walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2019.

Hudson Abel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because DasCHE is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Mateo Momanyi was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for DasCHE: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 8-12 otherwise. Anson Douglas was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

DasCHE's victory bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes Storm Gold, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-10-2.

Coming up, DasCHE will challenge Ellis County Christian Homeschool Organization at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes Storm Gold does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
