It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Oceanside Collegiate Academy had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Georgetown Bulldogs 4-3. The win was nothing new for the Landsharks as they're now sitting on five straight.

Jackson Lanning looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Scott Henry, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. Andrew Palmer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Oceanside Collegiate Academy's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Georgetown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-15 record this season.

Oceanside Collegiate Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Georgetown, they will square off against Silver Bluff at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Georgetown is facing Silver Bluff at the right time seeing as Silver Bluff is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
