Football Game Preview: Haralson County Rebels vs. Social Circle Redskins

After both having extra time off, the Haralson County Rebels and the Social Circle Redskins will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Haralson County took a loss when they played away from home back in October, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They came out on top against Bremen by a score of 34-26.

Paxton Ray had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 178 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 137 yards and one touchdown on only six passes. Colton Hutson was another key player, picking up 105 receiving yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Haralson County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 246 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bremen only rushed for 47.

Haralson County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Matthew Hutson.

Meanwhile, Social Circle was fully in charge on Thursday, breezing past Towers 49-15. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Redskins' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Haralson County better focus on containing Christian Paggett and Remi Farmer as the pair were huge in Social Circle's win. Paggett rushed for 142 yards and three TDs on only seven carries, while Farmer rushed for 40 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 142 rushing yards gave Paggett a new career-high. Elliot Hamilton also helped out with an impressive 83 receiving yards.

Social Circle pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.7 points over those games. As for Haralson County, their record now sits at 7-3.
