Newton County put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Northeast Lauderdale Trojans a 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won six matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Newton County is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. The loss snapped Northeast Lauderdale's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-3 record.

Newton County will have a chance to go back-to-back against Northeast Lauderdale: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
