Baseball Recap: Santa Teresa Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

Santa Teresa had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Andress Eagles with a sharp 14-6 victory. While the Desert Warriors didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Gavin Garcia was incredible, scoring four runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Sebastian Martinez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Santa Teresa was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .462 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Santa Teresa pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Andress, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Santa Teresa is taking a road trip to take on Santa Fe at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Andress will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on San Elizario at 6:30 p.m. on March 18th.
