Softball Preview: New Iberia Yellowjackets vs. Sulphur Golden Tors
New Iberia is 2-8 against Sulphur since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The New Iberia Yellowjackets are on the road again to play the Sulphur Golden Tors at 4:00 p.m. New Iberia is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, it was close, but New Iberia sidestepped Cecilia for an 8-7 win.
Shaylee Gibson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over eight innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off 12 hits. Gibson was even better at the plate, going 5-for-5 with a home run and two RBI.
