Basketball Recap: Maud Comes Up Short

After flying high against Pewitt last Tuesday, Maud came back down to earth. The Maud Cardinals fell to the Harts Bluff Bulldogs 35-31. The defeat continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost six in a row.

Despite the loss, Maud still got an impressive performance from Mallorie Bishop, who posted 21 points. That was a full 67.7% of Maud's points, marking the 22nd time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Maud's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Harts Bluff, the victory got them back to even at 13-13.

Maud will head out on the road to take on Bowie at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bowie will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Maud surely won't give up without a fight. Harts Bluff has already played their next contest (against Clarksville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
