Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson J-Hawks vs. Genoa-Kingston Cogs + How To Watch

The Jefferson J-Hawks will head out on the road to challenge the Genoa-Kingston Cogs at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Jefferson hadn't beaten Belvidere on the road since January 17, 2023 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. The J-Hawks claimed a resounding 68-21 win over the Bucs.

Abbie Bracius had a dynamite game, putting up 24 points. The matchup was her eighth in a row with at least 18 points. Jasanya Flores was another key player, posting 13 points.

Meanwhile, Genoa-Kingston came into Saturday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Ashton-Franklin Center by a score of 50-40 last Saturday.

Jefferson's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Genoa-Kingston, their record now sits at 2-3.

Jefferson was dealt a bruising 58-31 defeat at the hands of Genoa-Kingston in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Thankfully for the J-Hawks, Ally Poegel (who went 12-for-23 en route to 24 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals) won't be suiting up this time.
