            Softball Preview: Waterloo Bulldogs vs. Waltonville Spartans        
        
		
        
        
            The Waterloo Bulldogs will square off against the Waltonville Spartans at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Waltonville will  face off against  a team with plenty of momentum: Waterloo extended their winning streak to ten on Wednesday. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by  a  10-3 margin over Jersey.
 Aidan Dintelman was a  major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   six  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with three  RBI and one  double.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Sam Juelfs, who  went 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. She is  on a roll when it comes to  hits, as she's  now  got three or more in each of the last three games she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Grayce Mayer, who  went 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
 Meanwhile, Waltonville entered their tilt with Wayne City on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp  13-3 win.
 Waterloo's victory was  their fifth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 16-2. The  road  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Waltonville, their record is now 24-7.
 Waterloo came up short against Waltonville when the teams last played  back in May of 2024, falling  8-4. Can the Bulldogs avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
