Softball Game Preview: United Christian Academy Eagles vs. California School for the Deaf-Riverside Cubs

For the second straight game, United Christian Academy will face off against California School for the Deaf-Riverside. The Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Cubs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

United Christian Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 21-1 margin over California School for the Deaf-Riverside on Tuesday.

Lariah Avila made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. She also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, United Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Elizabeth Ram?rez, who scored four runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. What's more, Ram?rez posted two hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Krueger, who scored four runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

United Christian Academy's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games.
