Football Recap: Mission Takes a Loss

Mission's last matchup with Vela could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Eagles were beaten by the Sabercats 49-3. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Sabercats recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Vela's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyler Ruiz led the charge by throwing for 195 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. Tristian Cortinas was another key rusher, gaining 100 total yards and two touchdowns.

Mission's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Vela, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
