Football Recap: Everett Takes a Loss

Everett extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 6-4. They took a hard 41-27 fall against the Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs. The contest was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but the Warriors couldn't quite close it out.

When it comes to explaining why Everett lost, don't look at Jakobe Harman. Despite the final result, he rushed for 190 yards while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Harman really tore up the turf during one magnificent 79-yard run.

As for Claysburg-Kimmel, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.5 points over those games.

Mason Campagna produced another solid performance rushing for 160 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 178 yards and three TDs. He is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Claysburg-Kimmel also got a significant boost from Remington Diehl, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 106 yards.

Everett and Claysburg-Kimmel are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge Berlin Brothersvalley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mountaineers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Glendale at 7:00 p.m.
