Basketball Recap: Max Monteith's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Prescott over Osceola

Prescott was the 69-67 winner over Osceola when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Prescott Cardinals took a 58-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Osceola Chieftains.

Prescott's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Max Monteith, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Matzek, who earned nine points and three steals.

Prescott has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season. As for Osceola, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6.

Prescott didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-55 victory against Somerset on the 31st. Osceola has also already played their next game (against St. Croix Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
