Basketball Game Preview: Kearny Christian Academy vs. Harmony Christian Hawks

Kearny Christian Academy will venture away from home to challenge the Harmony Christian Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kearny Christian Academy has four straight wins, Harmony Christian has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Kearny Christian Academy will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Abundant Life Academy, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Kearny Christian Academy came out on top against Abundant Life Academy by a score of 46-38 on Tuesday. While Kearny Christian Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Harmony Christian played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Trinity Christian 52-20. The Hawks were down 39-13 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Harmony Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Edric Boateng posted nine points and six rebounds. That was a full 45% of Harmony Christian's points, marking the third time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Harmony Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Kearny Christian Academy, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

Everything came up roses for Kearny Christian Academy against Harmony Christian when the teams last played last Monday, as the squad secured a 91-37 win. Will Kearny Christian Academy repeat their success, or does Harmony Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
