Softball Game Preview: Ruston Bearcats vs. Airline Vikings

Ruston is 1-6 against Airline since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Bearcats will host the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Ruston came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 14-4 to West Monroe.

Aubrey Stoehr made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Airline fell victim to D'Arbonne Woods and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against D'Arbonne Woods, falling 12-0. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Ruston's loss dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Airline, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-10.

Ruston suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Airline when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Can the Bearcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
