Softball Recap: New Castle Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

New Castle entered their tilt with Union Area on Tuesday with four consecutive wins dating back to last season, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Union Area Scotties. This was payback for the Hurricanes, who suffered an 18-12 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Aliyah Stalczynski, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Mangieri, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

New Castle's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Castle will challenge Our Lady of the Sacred Heart at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Union Area, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Wilmington at 4:00 p.m. on March 20th.
