Basketball Game Preview: Anna Coyotes vs. Greenville Lions

The Anna Coyotes and the Greenville Lions will compete for holiday cheer at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Anna will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Melissa, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Anna snuck past Melissa with a 51-45 win on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Coyotes.

Meanwhile, Greenville hadn't done well against Sherman recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Greenville came out on top in a nail-biter against Sherman, sneaking past 39-37. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Anna has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points per game. As for Greenville, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-16.

Anna strolled past Greenville when the teams last played back in November of 2019 by a score of 47-32. Will Anna repeat their success, or does Greenville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
