Cypress Lake waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 25-23 victory over the Estero Wildcats. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Adrian Burdette had a dynamite game, picking up 102 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Cypress Lake's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. The heavy lifting was done by Daniel Johnson and Mason Kurtz, who racked up all six sacks between them.

Cypress Lake's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Estero, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Cypress Lake will challenge South Fort Myers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Estero, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lemon Bay at 7:30 p.m. on October 10.
