Recap: South Granville Vikings vs. J.F. Webb Warriors
After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, The South Granville Vikings brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They blew past J.F. Webb 42-12 at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 21-0.
Leading South Granville to victory were Cameron Dennison and Jamar Hicks. Dennison rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns, while Hicks rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries.
The team's defense also helped out by holding J.F. Webb to a paltry 184 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to South Granville's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out nine times before it was all said and done. The heavy lifting was done by Brycen White and Jaydn McNeil who racked up seven sacks between them.
South Granville's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for J.F. Webb, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 5-4.
South Granville will take on Granville Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Granville Central has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 25th. As for J.F. Webb, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Vance County at 7:00 p.m. Vance County is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
