Softball Game Preview: Alburnett Pirates vs. North Linn Lynx

Alburnett hasn't had much luck against North Linn recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Pirates will welcome the Lynx at 5:00 p.m. Alburnett's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so North Linn's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Saturday, Alburnett made easy work of Northeast and carried off a 10-3 win. Considering the Pirates have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, North Linn fell victim to Benton and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Bobcats, falling 6-0. The Lynx's defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Alburnett has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for North Linn, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.

Everything went Alburnett's way against North Linn in their previous matchup back in June of 2024, as Alburnett made off with a 10-2 win. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lynx turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
