Starmount has gone 8-2 against Ashe County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Wednesday. The Rams will take on the Huskies at 6:00  p.m. Both come into the  matchup bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
Starmount had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt North Stokes on Tuesday. The Rams were the clear victors by  a  12-2 margin over the Vikings. Considering the Rams' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Meanwhile, Ashe County sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  5-4  win over Hibriten  on Tuesday.
 Maleah Lovell made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out eight batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and three unearned) runs off   nine  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with one  home run, two  RBI,  and one  double.
 Lovell wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Hannah Osborne, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  RBI.  Rylee Williams also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  triple of the season.
 Ashe County was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .387. They are  a perfect 4-0 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
 Starmount is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Ashe County, their record now sits at 8-6.
 Starmount might still be hurting after the  9-1 defeat they got from Ashe County  when the teams last played  back in March. Can the Rams avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
