Softball Game Preview: Bluefield Beavers vs. Summers County Bobcats

Bluefield is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Summers County a 14-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Bluefield Beavers will welcome the Summers County Bobcats at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Wednesday, Bluefield didn't have quite enough to beat Wyoming East and fell 10-9.

Liberty hit Summers County with a 12-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bobcats lost 16-1 to the Raiders.

Bluefield's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Summers County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Bluefield took their victory against Summers County when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 21-0 score. Will the Beavers repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
