Baseball Recap: Bishop Amat Sets Scoring Season-High Against Serra

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bishop Amat). They blew past the Serra Cavaliers 15-4 on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Bishop Amat got a great performance from Izaac Muniz as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, Levi Altamirano was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Omar Arretche, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Bishop Amat always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Bishop Amat and bumps their season record up to 15-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Serra, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5.

Bishop Amat will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cavaliers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
