Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Deion Turner and Jessie Matthews Lead DMLK to Victory

DMLK won the last time they faced Lincoln and things went their way on Friday too. The DMLK Panthers strolled past the Lincoln Lancers with points to spare, taking the game 45-28. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Leading DMLK to victory were Jessie Matthews and Deion Turner. Matthews went 7-for-11 en route to 16 points and five rebounds, while Turner posted ten points along with six boards and five assists. Turner also grabbed five steals, which is notable because DMLK is 4-2 when he posts at least three steals, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Esquire Coleman, who had three points and seven boards.

Several Lancers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adeshina Alassani, who earned eight points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Alassani has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last ten times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Yangfeng Lei, who put up seven points.

DMLK now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

DMLK has already played their next match, a 67-38 loss against DSST: Cedar on the 4th. As for Lincoln, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-39 defeat against DSST: Conservatory Green on the 4th.
