            Baseball Preview: Hot Springs Tigers vs. Cobre Indians        
        
		
        
        
            Hot Springs is 0-10 against Cobre since April of 2022 but things could change  on Friday. The Hot Springs Tigers will face off against the Cobre Indians at 5:30  p.m. Both come into the  matchup bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
Hot Springs is headed out to face Cobre after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Hot Springs skirted past Mescalero Apache  9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Tigers have posted  since April 13, 2024.
 Carlos Sanchez made a splash no matter where he played. He  pitched three innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   four  hits. Sanchez was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave  him a new career-high in  RBI (two).

 In other batting news,  Hunter Montoya was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing  Three bases. while going 1-for-3. Those  three  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high.  James Oros Fuentes was another key player,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile,  after only one  run in their last  game, Cobre made sure to put some  runs up on the board against Tohatchi  on Thursday. Everything went Cobre's way against Tohatchi as Cobre made off with  a  10-2 win. Considering the Indians' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
 Ezekiel Rodriguez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two  runs (both of which were unearned)  on seven hits and racked up 15 Ks.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Zayden Jimenez, who  went 1-for-2 with one  home run and three  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Ayzik Jimenez, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Hot Springs might still be hurting after the  18-4 defeat they got from Cobre  in their previous meeting  back in May of 2024. Can Hot Springs avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
