Baseball Recap: Lake Mills Triumphs

Lake Mills posted their closest victory since April 10th on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lakeside Lutheran Warriors, sneaking past 4-3. For the L-Cats, this counts as revenge for the 7-6 win the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Jacob Cromey looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Lake Mills' success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 5-1 (and 7-8 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nolan Kolkovich, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Alex Parys was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Lake Mills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Lake Mills' victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Lakeside Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-7.

Lake Mills will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair will be back at it again later today.
