Softball Recap: St. David Takes a Loss

St. David was the 13-3 winner over Tombstone when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The St. David Tigers fell 15-11 to the Tombstone Yellow Jackets on Tuesday. The loss was the Tigers' first of the season.

Piper Merrill made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Austyn Hatch was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Having lost for the first time this season, St. David fell to 2-1. As for Tombstone, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-4.

Coincidentally, St. David and Tombstone will both be playing Benson the next time they take the field. Tombstone will host Benson at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while St. David will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
