Baseball Recap: Jay Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Jay can now relate to. They fell 11-8 to the Central Jaguars on Monday. The Royals' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Jax Lowery put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Jay is 6-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 9-10 otherwise. Lowery was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, Hayden Morris was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Jay's loss dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Central, their win bumped their record up to 15-7.

While Jay had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
