Basketball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Canutillo Eagles and fell 44-12. The Silver Foxes were probably out for revenge after losing 44-7 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Alani Silvas was the offensive standout of the matchup as she posted nine points and six boards. Those nine points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Krystal Marmolejo, who earned eight points.

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Canutillo, their win bumped their record up to 10-13.

Jefferson will challenge Andress at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Canutillo, they will square off against El Paso at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
