Basketball Recap: Roxborough Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Roxborough waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 63-58 W against the Northeast Vikings. This was payback for the Wolves, who suffered a 52-39 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Brandon Searles was his usual excellent self, shooting 60% from the field to rack up 31 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Those 31 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaycob Moore, who posted five points and five steals.

Northeast's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tahir Williams, who went 6-for-13 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. The contest was Williams' seventh in a row with at least 15 points. James Walker was another key player, putting up 12 points and eight boards.

Roxborough's record now sits at 14-5. As for Northeast, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.

Coming up, Roxborough will challenge Frankford at 3:15 p.m. on the 2nd. The Wolves' defense better be ready for this one: the Pioneers have averaged an impressive 55.6 points per game this season. As for Northeast, they have already played their next game, a 40-30 defeat against Council Rock North on the 31st.
