            Baseball Preview: Walkertown Wolfpack vs. Southern Guilford Storm        
        
		
        
        
            The Walkertown Wolfpack will venture away from home to  face off against the Southern Guilford Storm  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Walkertown has three straight  victories, Southern Guilford has four straight  defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Walkertown made up a huge gap compared to their last game against South Stokes, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Walkertown blew past South Stokes 12-2 on Tuesday. The Wolfpack might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by seven  runs or more this season.
 Caden Joyce spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances.

 At the plate, Walkertown got a  massive  performance out of  Owen Tidd, who  scored a  run and  stole  Three bases. while going 2-for-3. Those  three  stolen bases gave  Tidd a new career-high.  David Olmedo was another key player,  scoring three  runs and  stealing  Three bases. while going 2-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Southern Guilford fell victim to Rockingham County and their airtight pitching crew  on Tuesday. They came up short against  the Cougars, falling  8-0.
 Walkertown's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Southern Guilford, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
 Walkertown took their  victory against Southern Guilford  when the teams last played  on Wednesday by a conclusive  10-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Walkertown since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
