Football Recap: Dos Pueblos Finds Home Field Redemption Against Hueneme

There's no place like home for Dos Pueblos, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They enjoyed a cozy 27-8 victory over the Hueneme Vikings on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Chargers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Dos Pueblos had a senior duo take command as Callan Lee rushed for 175 yards and two scores while picking up 7.6 yards per carry and Drew Schultz rushed for 94 yards and one TD. Schultz's longest rush was for an incredible 76 yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Dos Pueblos proved: they limited Hueneme to a paltry 1.8 yards per carry. While two picked up at least nine total tackles, Holden Brey stood above the rest. He made nine total tackles and defended one pass. Dos Pueblos' run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed five yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 5.9 on average over their last five games.

Dos Pueblos' defense didn't let Alex Bravo, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. Iyad Ahmad-Reda refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.

The win got Dos Pueblos back to even at 3-3. As for Hueneme, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coming up, Dos Pueblos will square off against Agoura at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Agoura will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Dos Pueblos surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hueneme, they will take on Fillmore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Flashes' defense has only allowed 13.3 points per game this season, so the Vikings' offense will have their work cut out for them.
