Basketball Recap: Carson Brock's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Leetonia over Columbiana

Leetonia lost against Columbiana back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Leetonia Bears took a hard 67-49 fall against the Columbiana Clippers. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carson Brock, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Faulkner, who had nine points.

Columbiana got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Seth Struharik out in front who put up 24 points and three steals. The game was Struharik's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hunter Davanzo, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds.

Leetonia now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Columbiana, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leetonia will host Southern at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbiana, they will welcome East Palestine at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbiana is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.2 points per game this season.
