Basketball Recap: Carrizo Springs Wildcats vs. Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls)
Carrizo Springs lost against Uvalde back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Carrizo Springs Wildcats took a 53-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls). The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Carrizo Springs saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Melanie Davila went 10 for 17 on her way to 24 points along with five boards and three steals. Davila has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Julianna Lira, who posted seven points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Uvalde to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amilee Pulido, who put up 22 points. Those 22 points gave Pulido a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalia Cabralez, who had 16 points.
Carrizo Springs' loss dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Uvalde, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-17 record this season.
Carrizo Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Uvalde, they will face off against Pleasanton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
