Almont came tearing into Tuesday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Marine City Mariners by a score of 10-6. Almont's victory was all the more impressive since the Mariners were averaging only 3.82 runs allowed on the season.

Almont's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Marine City, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-10.
