Football Game Preview: Groton School vs. St. George's Dragons

Groton School will take on the St. George's Dragons at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

On Saturday, Groton School was beaten by Rivers 53-14. The loss continues a trend for Groton School in their meetings with Rivers: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, St. George's played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 42-6 loss at the hands of St. Mark's. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Dragons came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 30th in Rhode Island, while the Lions are ranked 156th in Massachusetts).

Groton School's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for St. George's, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 0-5.

Groton School couldn't quite get it done against St. George's when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 7-0. Can Groton School avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
