Recap: Hampton Hawks vs. Bruning-Davenport/Shickley Eagles
The Hampton Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They lost to Bruning-Davenport/Shickley on the road by a decisive 50-31 margin. Hampton has not had much luck with Bruning-Davenport/Shickley recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Hampton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nevaeh Lukassen. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. Kynleigh Joseph was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds.
Hampton has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Bruning-Davenport/Shickley, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hampton's road trip will continue as they head out to face Palmer at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Bruning-Davenport/Shickley, they will challenge Osceola at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday. Osceola will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
