Volleyball Recap: Stamford Black Knights vs. Westhill Vikings
Stamford lost against Westhill back in October of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Stamford Black Knights lost 3-0 to the Westhill Vikings. The Black Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
While Stamford ultimately came up short, they really made Westhill work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-17, 25-15.
Defne Ceken went supernova for Westhill, getting 15 kills, ten digs, two aces, and a block. Ceken is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in the last seven games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brogan Kern, who had four digs, two kills, and 25 assists.
Stamford's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Westhill, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.
Stamford is on the road again on Wednesday to play Greenwich at 4:00 p.m. Westhill has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against St. Joseph on the 7th.
