Basketball Recap: Mather Comes Up Short

Mather saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 58-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Shore Country Day Raiders. The Rangers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Mather still got an impressive performance from Adin Smajlovic, who posted 18 points. That was a full 37.5% of Mather's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was David Goytia, who put up ten points.

Mather's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for North Shore Country Day, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.

Mather has already played their next game, an 81-55 victory against Alcott on the 20th. As for North Shore Country Day, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-52 defeat against Northridge on the 22nd.
