Football Recap: Forbush Starts Season with Loss at Home

Forbush unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They received a blow on Friday as they fell 37-20 to the Bishop McGuinness Villains.

Despite the loss, Forbush still got an impressive performance from Keanu Escalante, who rushed for 121 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Escalante's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 101 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere 2.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Skylar Kimber for the heroic effort on defense: he. Forbush's ground attack was stronger, having averaged four.

Tristan Styers was nothing short of spectacular for Bishop McGuinness: he threw for 334 yards and five TDs. 129 of those passing yards were hauled in by Henry Kyle.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Forbush will venture away from home to take on Wheatmore at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bishop McGuinness, they will head out to square off against West Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
