Baseball Game Preview: Hillsborough Terriers vs. Spoto Spartans

The Hillsborough Terriers are taking a road trip to face off against the Spoto Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hillsborough is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Hillsborough's last matchup with Sickles could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Friday. Hillsborough lost 11-4 to Sickles.

Nathan Vig made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Spoto's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-0 to Durant, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Spartans have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.

Spoto saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Devin Dukes, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Hillsborough's record is now 1-10. As for Spoto, their record now sits at 6-5.

Everything went Hillsborough's way against Spoto in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Hillsborough made off with an 8-1 victory. Does Hillsborough have another victory up their sleeve, or will Spoto turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
