Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only West Park walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Manteca Buffaloes on Friday, sneaking past 10-9. The win was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won five contests in a row.

The team relied heavily on Jayden McNeal, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Christopher Fisher, who went 1-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

West Park hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in five consecutive matches.

West Park's record now sits at 24-6. As for Manteca, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 21-8.

Looking ahead, West Park will face off against Yuba City at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Honkers will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. Manteca does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
