Soccer Game Preview: West Valley vs. Deer Park

The West Valley Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Deer Park Stags at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Deer Park took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on West Valley, who comes in off a win.

West Valley will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals two weeks ago, then bounced right back against Rogers on Tuesday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over the Pirates. Considering West Valley's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Deer Park didn't have quite enough to beat Clarkston on Tuesday and fell 3-2. Deer Park have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

West Valley pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those four contests. As for Deer Park, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

West Valley took their win against Deer Park in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
